Get a PIN to transfer your wireless number

You must request a Number Transfer PIN from Cricket Wireless to transfer your wireless number to another service provider.

The Number Transfer PIN, and other required account info, are needed for the transfer. Before you get started, check out the additional information and FAQs below to learn more.

  • Don’t disconnect your Cricket Wireless service before requesting a number transfer with your new service provider. If you do, you’ll have to reactivate your Cricket Wireless number before your request can be completed.
  • Trading in your device to your new service provider? Make sure you request the Number Transfer PIN before signing up with them.

How to get your Number Transfer PIN

Request your Number Transfer PIN through Chat close to the time you’ll submit the transfer request to the new provider. You can use a single Number Transfer PIN for all numbers that are on the same account. The Number Transfer PIN is valid for five days after you request it. If you need a new one, you can ask for another by following the same steps.

From Online

You can now request your Number Transfer Pin easily online. Please make sure you have your account login information handy before you begin.

From your Cricket Wireless mobile device

The fastest way to get your Number Transfer PIN is to dial *PORT/*PORTAR from your Cricket Wireless device. You can also call 1-800-CRICKET (274-2538) from any device. When calling Customer Service, you’ll need your account PIN to generate the Number Transfer Pin.

Note: Customers may not be able to use this option when roaming on other carriers’ wireless networks.

From the myCricket App

  1. From the Home Screen – click the ‘Gear Icon’ to enter the Account Info screen
  2. From the Account Information screen - select the appropriate CTN from Line Settings
  3. Click “Get my Number Transfer PIN”

No. There's no charge to request a Number Transfer PIN or to transfer your number to another service provider.

If your device isn’t accessible, ask someone on your multiline account to request the Number Transfer PIN for you, or you can contact Customer Service at 1-800-CRICKET (274-2538).

Yes. You can get a new Number Transfer PIN from your mobile device by following the same steps if the PIN you previously requested has expired.

Note: The Number Transfer PIN is valid for five days after you request it.

No. You need a Number Transfer PIN and your account number – not your account PIN – when you transfer a wireless number from Cricket Wireless to another service provider. You should only give the Number Transfer PIN and your account number to the new service provider. (The account PIN is used to protect your Cricket Wireless account from unauthorized access.)

Note: Cricket Wireless will never call you and ask for your account PIN or Number Transfer PIN.
